*Cavemen* is a perfect example of a joke being stretched far beyond its breaking point. The GEICO cavemen worked because the commercials were short. Turning that concept into an entire sitcom only demonstrated how little material there actually was. The characters are irritating, the jokes rarely land, and the attempts at social commentary are about as subtle as you would expect from a sitcom based on an insurance commercial.
